19 September 2018, Kolkata: VIRTUE HUNT: Most ideas remain on paper as projects for the curriculum. The common reasons could be lack of funding, proper mentor-ship or lack of interests. However, to counter these issues VIRTUE HUNT is organizing a two day events in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
V-HACK is a 24 hour hackathon organised by VIRTUE HUNT, proposing to give wings to dreams of aspiring students. This is ideal for developers and coders who possess awesome ideas. These ideas would be nurtured into prototypes by expert mentors and industry stalwarts, present at the event.
Though the events are conducted in just two cities, applications are expected from across the nation. Students who wish to showcase their abilities are most welcome to get their ideas validated by industrial proponents.

The official notification for the event claims, ‘V-HACK (24-hour Hackathon) is an event where a select group of applicants will be given 24 hours to develop an innovative technology that should be useful and affordable to the common world and thus can help in development.
As part of V-HACK, students will work together with a range of professionals, and experts who share the same passion for tech, and with whom they can collaborate to achieve success. Our motive is to allow students to bring their ideas into the real world. Students will also be challenged with real business problems, and will have the chance to pitch their unique solutions to influential industry professionals.
V-HACK is a 24 hour hackathon that will take place in Kolkata (West Bengal, India) on 17th and 18th November 2018 and in Ahmedabad (Gujarat, India) on 22nd and 23rd December 2018. The event will witness quality students from 20+ cities and 20+ colleges who will develop 50+ live projects.
In order to support women in technology we have also decided to ensure more than 40% of female participation and with 600+ giveaways and goodies we aim to provide a moral boost to the students that would encourage them to participate in large numbers.’
In a candid chat with WAY2WORLD, Vishal Chowhan, Founder, Virtue Hunt informed, ‘Our progress so far is, till 5th Sept 2018 there are 41 teams registered from 14 different colleges across India. The expected number is over 100 teams in the upcoming 60 days as the offline marketing campaigns are to be executed from 17th Sept.’
Talking about the participants demographics, Students hailing from various reputable institutions like VIT (Vellore), GTU (Ahmedabad), CV Raman college of engineering (Bhubaneswar), Techno India University (Howrah), Hack Coder (Bhilwara), BPIT (New Delhi), Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology (Jodhpur), Heritage Institute Of Technology (Kolkata), JECRC University (Jaipur), Lovely professional University (Jalandhar), NIT (Durgapur), KIIT (Bhuwaneshwar), NIT (Raipur), LNCT (Bhopal), and counting… and we are yet to target local colleges and universities in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.’
He added, ‘the age groups were Mostly 18-25 years (80%), however the event will also involve Startups, corporate and mentors (20%). As per the criteria, students (80%), professional coders (20%) and mostly Front End 60%, Back end 40% developers have been on-boarded.’
‘The challenges that expose the aspiring students would be projects with unique solutions for various social issues like security, women empowerment, unemployment, etc. They will be evaluated on the basis of its effectiveness and affordability for common people.’
