Gujarat Technical University is well envisioned on its initiative to bring a rapid change in the Gujarat StartUp Ecosystem with its various event schedules. On Wednesday (31 July 2019), a massive demo day was organised in Surat at the SGCCI. The event had good participation and nearly three dozen ideators presented their unique initiatives.
All of them had successfully tested their markets and were ready to scale up for mass production. Incubated at GTU Innovation and StartUp Centre, these revenue stage entities had an enchanting experience which gave them the right impetus to move forward from here.
Tushar Panchal (Incubation Manager & Assistant Professor – Gujarat Technological University), who took an active part in organizing the event along with Nikhil Suthar, (GTU-Vadodara) were very happy with the outcome.
They formally informed, ‘Today, GTU Innovation & Startup Centre in association with TiE Surat organised ‘GTU Startup Demo Day‘ at SGCCI. Participants in huge number included young entrepreneurs, innovators, mentors and students.
StartUps and Innovators from 12 sectors including AR-VR technology, manufacturing, IT services, HealthCare and automobile participated for the benefit of society and industry. A unique platform for Entrepreneurs as well as Innovators got created where they received opportunity to demonstrate their products to promote and validate the same.
StartUps, functioning from Surat and Southern zone of the state participated and demonstrated their solution/product and for the opportunity provided. Major industry leaders were invited to evaluate and felicitate their efforts.
The program was interactive, the audience received opportunity to discuss with the StartUps that presented to create better collaborations. GTU will organize such demo days across the state frequently to provide the opportunity to Budding entrepreneurs.

The duo informed that this was the first of its kind in Surat and planned to repeat this event regularly, after viewing the tumultuous response today. They added that by doing such events the regional StartUps would get a chance to meet industry experts to collaborate, network and get funded.
