Abhishek Arora youngest Compumarvel says Google

Imagine what anyone does at 14 years of age, being naughty, playing with other kids and studying for exams. However, this kid was different. Our Icon for the day is Abhishek Arora who at 14 years of age was the youngest winner and was placed at no.2 position, with 150 points, in the Google Code In. The Competition was initiated by the search engine giant, Google and is conducted by third party consulting agencies. During the competition 542 students from 56 countries participated to complet 3,054 tasks. The top ten completed an impressive 449 tasks during the contest and stood as winners. Moreover, of them five were from India. While Shitiz Garg, also from India, topped the list with 200 points, Gaurav Narula, Gautam and Aneesh Dogra were also in the top ten. The competition was conducted between November last to January this year.
The open source contest perceived by the Google, started last year and open to children between the ages of 13 and 17, it aims at introducing the world of open source software to teenagers. The tasks included are like coding a piece of software or finishing simulation models. Each completed task, depending on its level of difficulty, is worth a certain number of points and contestants are expected to accumulate as many points as possible. The top ten would be flown shortly, to Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California to take part in the prize ceremony and to meet the company’s engineers.
Our Arora is well versed in designing websites with HTML, can work with Photoshop and can code in C and C++. Arora, is much fascinated by the Search Engines that one day he would work in this area to go further. Shortly this boy is sure to feature in our Entrepreneur News section too.
