Women’s Day Special highlights about the top five women entrepreneurs of India who sacrificed their comfort zones to glitter like diamonds in this otherwise male chauvinist society.

Due credence must be given to these stalwarts, who dominated, in their own domains and proved their mettle with imbibed values. The fragrance of their success must be trend setting to their fellow women.

Women work harder and adorn the roles they take up. Their significance and signature is indomitable in any role they play. They add perfection to the given character while giving their personal touch to the people around. Time immense women have been the source of pride to their counterparts. On this Women’s day, their contribution to women entrepreneurship empowerment needs acceptance.

An Indian woman who made an indelible mark on international soils by heading the mighty PepsiCo is Ms Indra Nooyi, a classic example of prolonged sustenance at the peaks. The business heads of the nation admire Ms Indra Nooyi  for her corporate leadership traits.

Second in the league is Ms Naina Lal Kidwai who heads the HSBC Indian operations. This Harvard product had brought in a sea of changes in her domain and made her presence felt to her rivals.

Third is Ms Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, the founder Chairman and Managing Director of Biocon Limited. She is known to have steered the company from an industrial enzyme manufacturing to being a leader in biomedicine research.  Her perseverance to find a cure for diabetes won adulation from the medical fraternity.

Next is Ms Chanda Kochhar who heads ICICI Bank. The hard-core banker had given many a sleepless nights to her rivals, with her strategies and positioned the bank to being the largest private bank in the country.

The fifth in the list as per the financial researchers is Ms Indu Jain who was the former Chairperson of the Times Group. Ms Indu Jain had always advocated for women entrepreneurship. During her tenure, she voiced profound concern for women rights. The icon of the times, Ms Indu Jain again proved that the pen was stronger than the sword.
