Successful innovations are curated under the guidance of experienced mentors. An incubation centre is a platform where domain rich mentors nurture ideating brains and help them reach optimum levels.
GTU Innovation and StartUp Centre is one such centre where every day is a celebration for StartUp enthusiasts. One or the other event is initiated to foster the ecosystem. To replicate the successful model the organisation conducted an event that briefed about the various aspects needed to start an incubation centre in its affiliated institutions.
Renowned stalwarts from across the ecosystem delivered their valuable lectures to guide the participants, mostly StartUp enthusiasts. The event was held on the campus of Gujarat Technical University’s StartUp Centre on 30 July 2019 (Tuesday).
The official communique stated, “Today a 1-day workshop on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” was organised by GTU Innovation and StartUp Centre, Vadodara.
In the program, major group of students, teachers, StartUp enthusiasts and Innovators participated, into which themes including Industry Relation, Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation, Public Relation and Communication, Community Outreach, Social Initiatives, Technology Research and Development and Entrepreneurship at Institutional level were discussed in depth, beneficial to setup Innovation Clubs in the GTU affiliated institutions.
Below mentioned topic were discussed by the respective speakers:
1) Objectives of GIC Clubs – Mr. Karan Saragara
2) Industry Relations – Mr. Rudresh Vyas
3) Intellectual Property and Innovation – Mr. Nikhil Suthar
4) Public Relations and Communication – Mr. Deval Dave Joshi
5) Community Outreach and Social Initiatives – Mr. Tushar Redij
6) Technology Research and Development – Mr. Harsh Shah
7) Promoting Entrepreneurship at Institutional Level – Mr. Rohit Dave
The major aim of the program was to increase the work efficiency of the GIC club in the GTU affiliated institutions across the city. The GIC Clubs have been established to promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship among students, for which the said program was organised by GTU Innovation Council and StartUp Centre.”
Such events help in creating a challenging environment with in an institution that would be the guiding force to emerging StartUps on the campus. More such events must unfold across various universities across this nation to encourage more StartUps take centre stage.
