Former President preferred teaching
Way2World ICON:
“Before becoming the President, I was a teacher. After my term, I became a teacher again. I always loved being a teacher.” That’s APJ Abdul Kalam chatting with students of Greenwood High School in Bengaluru. Principles dominate the righteous say veterans. As the presidency elections issue became pertinent, Abdul Kalam’s name was speculated by many politicians and well supported by our Kolkata Didi. But what made the former president from refraining to enter into a contest. Was it that he feared competition or were his chances limited. Whatever could be the reason for the missile man to keep away from running for the second term to the Rashtrapathi Bhavan.
Probably if one knows the missile man well, both these analysis would be disagreed. The main reason could be that he just did not want to stay away from development and peer mentoring his disciples for another term. And most importantly he did not want to compromise on his principles which had been his fundamental assets.
At the same school the teacher of teachers said, “The whole world is trying to make you like everybody else. But you have to fight to be unique. You should have an aim, work hard, acquire knowledge and persevere… Have the courage to think different, invent, and travel into an undiscovered path and combat problems.” Imagine the impact the words of the great man would have on the young listeners.
To upkeep principles is the duty of every individual a per the former President, who told the children at Greenwood, “Righteousness has to be taught by parents and primary school teachers. You should have the courage to tell even your father, ‘Don’t become corrupt’.”
Summing up all this only speaks how Kalam is a class apart. The stalwart is the role model to the entire nation. Way2World salutes the man who has spearheaded the Indian missile and the space program. There is really no place for this righteous man in the nation’s politics, which is filled with………….RajKishan
