Most innovations are happening at the campuses where the students have an access to professors of all domains under one roof. Actually every college could be a research institute with the wide range of experts assembled at one place.
With government emphasizing on the ‘Make in India’ initiative, MAKEATHON 2018 is an ideal platform for young talents to convert their dreams into prototypes with the guidance of industry experts.
The nationwide event, MAKEATHON 2018, is held in Warangal on the 12 and 13 of November 2018.
This event is a successor to events held at Bangalore, Pune and Chennai, since the last couple of months. The selected few would be announced on November 13, 2018. Then they would be incubated under the supervision of expert mentors.
Along with the other selected teams they would compete in the Grand Finale DEMO Day to be held on December 14, 2018.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three, while the winners will pocket Rs. 100,000/- the first and second runner ups will get Rs. 70,000/- and Rs. 30,000/-, respectively.
Apart from this the selected will be benefited with IP registration and would get a chance to network with Investors, Industry experts, Global Markets, Incubators, Accelerators, Academicia, Government bodies and renowned mentors.
The categories are Media Tek industry challenges, Smart Communications, Agri Tech, Water management, Urban traffic, Smart cars / vehicles, Robotics, Waste management, Education, Surveillance / security, Medical / health and Industry challenges.
‘The intent is to select the top 30 teams across the various verticals. MAKEATHON would also foster active collaboration between industry and universities to further expand the available world class semiconductor talent pool in India.’
MAKEATHON 2018 is the brainchild of India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA). IESA ‘is the premier trade body committed to the development of a vibrant Indian Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) ecosystem and evangelizing the dream of establishing “Brand India” that is recognized worldwide as a go-to destination for electronic products.’
IESA wishes to create level playing grounds to all innovations by bringing ‘Indian industry, government and academia on a common platform and jointly work towards developing and promoting Made-in-India products for the global markets.’
